Applicable Models: Defender MP145, Defender XP235

Note: Before starting the steps below, please ensure the unit is turned off and unplugged.

1. Remove the Air Inlet Grill: Unscrew the screw on the top of the air inlet grill (as shown in the image below). Once loosened, carefully detach the air inlet grill along with the filter from the dehumidifier.

2. Remove the Metal Cover: Unscrew the screws (as shown in the image below). Once loosened, carefully detach the metal cover from the dehumidifier.

3. Remove the Side Panel: Unscrew the screws fixing the side panel (as shown in the image below). Once loosened, carefully detach the side panel from the dehumidifier.

4. Take out the Float Switches Mechanism: Unscrew the screw fixing the float switches (as shown in the image below) and then take out the float switch mechanism.

5. Wiggle the Float Switches: The float switches may be stuck. Gently wiggle both float switches up and down several times to ensure they can move freely.

Note: After taking the float switches mechanism out, you may find a filter in the water tray. Remove it as it may obstruct the float switches.

6. Pour Water into the Water Tray: Reinstall the float switches, then pour about 34 fl oz of water into the water tray from the opening (as shown in the image below).

7. Reinstall and Test: Reinstall the the side panel, metal cover and the air inlet grill. Then restart the dehumifier and check if the pump drains water automatically.
